Babu Padmanabhan holds a Ph.D. in analytical kinematics from Virginia Tech, USA. He contributed to controlling structural vibrations in the International Space Station for a NASA project, laying the groundwork to envision the role of kinematics in solving complex problems. Driven by a vision to create technology that revolutionizes material transformation, Babu founded STEER in 1993. Through his expertise in geometry, metallurgy, and computer-aided design, he developed "Intelligent Compounding," an engine that had the potential to transform various industries, including polymers, pharmaceuticals, and food.
Babu's commitment to sustainability led to STEER incubating significant development centers and startups. STEERLife, Phitons, and GeoMATER utilize STEER’s advanced manufacturing technologies to tackle global challenges such as plastic pollution, deforestation, microplastics, malnutrition, obesity, and infectious diseases. Their innovative products are dedicated to making our world better. With over 30 inventions and more than 150 international patents, Babu’s contributions are both extensive and impactful. Babu’s family heritage traces back to the School of Apastamba, known for mathematical precision over 2500 years ago. He follows in the footsteps of renowned geometers and kinematicians like Euclid, Archimedes, Brahmagupta, Descartes, Newton, Freudenstein, and Reinholtz.
